Gamera stands for the children by kaijuverse Gamera stands for the children by kaijuverse
When I decided to re-ink the "Gamera vs. Foes'' picture I knew I needed to re-draw Gamera for it .
A little tweeking after this and some color and that picture is done .

I donated the new color GamvsFoes art to "Carl Craig" [he played Jim Morgan in 'Gamera vs. Viras' AKA: Destroy All Planets] so that he could sell prints on line at destroyallplanets.com so he could raise money to put up a memorial to the late Original Gamera movie Director Noriaki Yuasa .

Yeah, he stands for children, untill the hessei series, when he stands on the children. And blows them up. Hessei Gamera is alot darker, but Irys kicked ass.

Ah, Gamera is full of meat and he's good to eat. Just joking, I loved the old Gamera movies, the trilogy in the 1990's, and though I haven't seen it yet, I might like Gamera The Brave.

Nice work, Frank!

Gamera The Brave is much like the old original Gamera series, with Gamera giving his life to destroy a flock of vicious Gyaos back in 1973 and later in 2006,a new young Gamera has to fight the vicious sea monster Zedus, and a young boy is a central main character.

And yes,I miss Mystery Science Theater 3000. Gotta love Joel/Mike,Tom Servo and Crow onboard the Satelite Of Love.

i loved the early gamera movies when i was a kid and still enjoy them . several didn't seem any dopier than the godzilla movies at the time . monsters fighting monsters , it's all good .
[several were dopey too] DO NOT EVER WATCH GAMERA SUPER MONSTER ! it's just a bad clip movie with lowbudget star wars rip off fx .

the 1990's gamera movies were awesome .

you can get most of them pretty cheap on dvd these days . just look for the fire breathing , flying turtle on the cover .

Try searching Amazon.com and/or ask around at GSNorthAmerica. Some members either sell or trade VHS/DVDs there.

Though Gamera Super Monster was a awful rip off film,it was still better than Plan 9 and Robot Monster.

And yes, that enemy alien starship was a stolen rip off version of the Star Wars' Imperial Star Destroyer. George Lucas either didn't know or he really didn't give a (BLEEP) and never sued for copyright infrigement.

Go for it! Buy Gamera today.

And how popular is Inuyasha? I like that anime toon,I watch it regularly on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
Kagome is sexy and awesome! Now we just have to give Inuyasha a good pair of white hightop sneaker shoes to go with his red outfit, and then snatch Kagome's shoes and make her go barefoot.

Kay :D

Inuyasha? Well he's still popular despite the anime ended at 167 episodes and never finished because it took one guy quitting at Sunrise to shut the whole project down. If anyone wants to finish the series, you have to read the manga

The Daiei Gamera films of the 1960s were okay, though the monsters did look like fiendish evil muppets. Check out the better 1990s era Gamera films and newer Gamera The Brave.

Do you have any dealer or shop that sells Japanese SciFi and monster films where you live?

Oh,have you ever yet seen Inuyasha yet,or do live way way out in the boonies where farmers still secretly make 200 proof Moonshine and the young farmgirls listen to Credence Clearwater Revival and go barefoot 24/7 and still worship Davis Cassidy?
And have you yet heard about America landing on the Moon?

I'm kidding Cem. I still like you, even if you are hopelessly stranded and lost in THE LAND OF THE LOST.

P.S.
Beware of Sleetaks!

Yep. I got plenty of 18th century Amish living around me. Yes kids,LaGrange,Indiana has a huge population of Amish here ( Whites and rednecks too ). Horse-n-buggies and old fashioned hardcore Dutch/German religion. The Amish do secretly brew thier own beer Frank,it's kinda okay but I prefer the "English"/non Amish made beers.

Thankfully, the Amish are NOT into Witchhunting or burning witches at the stake, but we got some witches at Lakeland High School. Gotta love/hate Goths.

What a wacky place I live in. Maybe someday I'll move to Wyandotte and enjoy the Detriot city culture.

You never yet seen a Gamera movie?! I gotta start sending you Gamera movies then. Though Gamera may be the children's friend, director Shusuke Kaneko made the new 90s era Gamera the girls' friend.

Screw Mothra, the gals in Tokyo LOVE the hero in the hard shell!

Oh,even Gamera had his bad bombs. Frank will tell you,I will will too since I recently seen it on DVD. "Gamera Super Monster" is a really bad stinker, even worst than Plan 9 or Frogs.

And you gotta go to G-FEST conventions, you'll get to met and know REAK G-Fans and drink beer with some too.
( Beware. Mike is a evil bastard! Wayne is evil too! )

You are welcome to write about your travels to the Land of The Rising Sun,send photos and other family friendly G/PG rated stuff from Japan to J.D. Lees at submissions@g-fan.com

Oh,while you're there Cem,go check out the movie theaters. You may get lucky and catch the next new Godzilla or Gamera film. And when you're in Osaka, please say hello to our favorate guy and loveable actor Robert Scott Field/Android M-11 from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.

And do enjoy the sushi and saki/rice wine, and send photos of nice mature Japanese girls in schoolgirl/Kagome style outfits to me please.

Have a happy and safe trip to Japan.
